“Going green” not only helps you protect the environment, but it also helps protect your wallet in more than one way. Less energy used in the office translates to lower heating and cooling bills while the right devices can also decrease costs for paper and other non-essential items thanks to technology.

Follow these three easy tips for greening the office to start saving and doing something for the environment today:

Turn things off when not in use: It’s surprising how many people forget about simply turning off the lights or devices when they aren’t going to use them. As long as something is “on”, it uses energy so make sure that everything is turned off when you aren’t in the office. Make a habit of it and watch the energy bill go down.

Use natural light: Whenever possible, use natural lighting instead of lamps. Simply opening the curtains often provides enough light for working and costs nothing.

“Go paperless”:http://www.dotloop.com: If you don’t need to print something out, just don’t do it. Stick to electronic documents and archive them instead of using the printer. As a safeguard, archive them in more than one device and use cloud-based solutions that allow you to access those documents from anywhere on the globe.
